Prison Receiver Still in Charge, Depsite Play to End His Job by Gov.

Attorney Clark Kelso will continue to head California’s Prison health system as federal court appointed receiver, despite a play today by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to have the postion abolished.  The article is here.

Local Ventura County activists and organized public safety leaders, who have been fighting the Receiver’s desire to build a large prison hospital in Camarillo, had hoped the Gov’s effort would have put an end to the political and legal fight.    This appears to not yet be over.

  1. Funny thing about this whole story as I’ve watched it play out; many of the same people screaming about the “unfairness of it all” (putting a prison hospital in their backyard) were the hardest to convince that Judicial Activism is a real problem.
    Of course, NIMBYs think the world revolves around them anyway, or it should.
